(VIDEO) Husky Dog Saves Neighborhood From Gas Leak

A observant Husky alerted his owner to a gas leak, sparing their neighborhood from a terrible explosion just before Christmas.

Dogs are remarkable creatures, frequently displaying instincts and senses that beyond human skills. Their activities can occasionally be more than amusing or quirky; they can even save lives.

This was the case for a courageous Husky dog in Philadelphia, whose intuition helped prevent a tragedy. The dog’s attentive digging revealed a de:adly gas leak, preventing a dis:aster for the entire neighbourhood.

Chanell Bell told the astonishing story on Christmas Eve, proudly referring to her dog Kobe as “the Dog that Saved the Block Before Christmas.”

Chanell describes in the video how her four-year-old Husky Kobe started digging a massive hole in the yard, which she found peculiar. Kobe wasn’t usually a digger, so she wondered if he noticed something different.

“I trust Kobe’s instincts because he doesn’t normally act this way, and he’s usually spot-on,” Chanell told SWNS. “Seeing the hole felt out of character for him, so I thought it was worth checking out.”

Chanell recently had a gas leak in her home and has been cautious since. Despite an issue with her heater, a gas level reader revealed no evidence of a leak in the home.

However, Husky Kobe continued to dig in the same location, forcing her to use the gas reader on the area he had been targeting. To her amazement, it detected gas, showing a concealed and potentially fa:tal leak.

“We were informed that the gas leak could have caused severe health issues, including respiratory problems, brain ᴅᴀᴍᴀɢᴇ, or even de.a.th,” Chanell said.

Utility officials spent three days patching the leak, warning that something as simple as a light switch could have set off a major explosion. Kobe’s timely discovery kept everyone on the block safe.

“It’s really mind-blowing,” Chanell says in her video. “I’m so grateful to God and to my amazing dog,” she added, referring to Kobe.

The story immediately spread online, with many applauding Husky Kobe as a hero. Chanell was inspired by the outpouring of support to write The Dog That Saved The Block Before Christmas, a children’s book that immortalized the event.

Kobe now has his own website, where fans can follow him on social media, give him goodies, and even buy the gas-level reader mentioned in the story — a tool that could come in helpful one day.
