Unbelievable: Mom, dad, newborn daughter all share same birthday

December 18 will be an special day in the Scott household because all three members of the family now share a birthday.

Cassidy and Dylan Scott recently welcomed their firstborn child, Lennon, on Sunday at the Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children in Huntsville, Alabama, as per a Facebook post by hospital staff.

According to TODAY.com, the proud parents explains that Lennon’s due date was marked down as Dec. 27.

“I didn’t want her to be born on my birthday at first because I wanted her to have her own day,” Cassidy says. “The closer I got, Dylan talked me into it. He had me come around to the idea of wanting it to happen.”

Then, while they are enjoying their own birthdays at a restaurant in the evening, Cassidy’s water broke.

“I started having contractions, and I was like, Oh my gosh, this might actually happen,” Cassidy says. “And so I didn’t really have a choice at that point. I had to come around.”

According to Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children in Huntsville, Alabama, the unlikely coincidence with a Facebook post filled with celebration and many congratulatory replies.

“This is an exciting time for any family, but it’s extra special for this family because they all share the same birthday,” the post reads. “That’s right! On Sunday, Dec. 18, a chance that’s one in 133,000 occurred when their daughter Lennon was born.”

Cassidy was born on Dec. 18, 1996, while Dylan was born on Dec. 18, 1998.

Cassidy said that she thought Dylan was lying about his birthday at first. But she can’t believe that it’s the truth.

“I always say now I don’t have a day to myself,” Dylan quips. “But now I really don’t have a day to myself.”

Newborn baby Lennon is healthy and doing well, according to the happy parents Dylan and Cassidy.

“She’s very smiley. She smiles constantly,” Cassidy says. “She’s just a really good baby. I mean, she barely even cries. Obviously, she sleeps a lot. But she’s just a really good baby. We couldn’t have asked for a better baby. She’s perfect.”

Other newborn arrivals with notable birthdates have made headlines, including a “miracle” baby girl born at 2:22 a.m. ET on Tuesday, 2/22/22 at a hospital in North Carolina.

The second one is at the start of 2022 when California twins entered the world just 15 minutes apart. But because of the unique timing, they were born on different days, months and years. Alfredo Antonio Trujillo, was delivered first at 11:45 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2021, at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, California. His twin sister, Aylin Yolanda Trujillo, entered the world exactly at midnight on Jan. 1, making her the first baby born at the hospital in 2022.
