A man walked into the lingerie department at Macy’s and confidently told the saleswoman, “I’d like to buy my wife a Southern Baptist bra, size 34B.”
The saleswoman blinked. “A… what kind of bra?”
“A Southern Baptist bra,” he repeated. “My wife said you’d know exactly what I mean.”
The saleswoman smiled. “Oh, yes! We don’t get many requests for those anymore. These days, most customers ask for the Catholic bra, the Salvation Army bra, or the Presbyterian bra.”
Now completely puzzled, the man asked, “Well… what’s the difference?”
The saleswoman replied, “It’s actually very simple.”
“The Catholic bra supports the masses.”
“The Salvation Army bra lifts the fallen.”
“And the Presbyterian bra keeps everything staunch and upright.”
The man nodded thoughtfully. “That all makes sense…”
After a long pause, he sighed. “I have a feeling I’m going to regret asking this… but what exactly does the Southern Baptist bra do?”
The saleswoman couldn’t help but grin.
“Oh, that’s the easy one.”
“It specializes in making mountains out of molehills.”
