She Thought He Was Safe… Until Her Husband Spoke
A woman was at home when she suddenly heard her husband’s car pulling into the driveway.
“Quick!” she whined. “Hide!”
The man looked around in panic.
“Under the bed!” she said.
He slid underneath just as the front door opened.
Her husband walked in, calm as ever.
“Hey,” he said, looking around. “Everything okay?”
“Yeah… why wouldn’t it be?” she replied, trying to sound normal.
He nodded slowly… then sat down on the bed.
Silence.
A few seconds passed.
Then the husband casually dropped something on the floor.
A small pillow.
Right in front of the man hiding underneath.
“…you might need that,” he said.
The woman froze.
From under the bed, the man didn’t dare move.
The husband stood up, stretched, and walked toward the closet.
He opened it… paused… then quietly closed it again.
“Relax,” he said calmly. “Nobody’s in there today.”
Now the woman was completely speechless.
He walked back, sat on the bed again, and leaned down slightly.
“Listen,” he said, not even looking down.
“I’m not here to cause trouble.”
Silence filled the room.
Then he added:
“I just wish someone had warned me the first time.”
A long pause.
Then, as he stood up to leave, he said:
“Two hours. No water. No pillow. At the neighbor’s place.”
He changed at his wife, half-smiled, and walked out of the room.
The front door is closed.
Silence.
Finally, from under the bed, a shaky voice whispered:
“…is he gone?”
The woman sat down slowly and sobbed.
“…I think we’re both in the wrong house.”
