Selfless Doctor Saves Patient’s Life, Even as His Own Dad was D.y.i.n.g

While Dr. Zhang’s dad was lying on his d.e.a.t.h bed, he was called at the hospital he’s working at to perform a much-needed surgery. He could have chosen to delay the surgery a bit so as to spend more time with his dying dad but the dedicated doctor chose to save his patient’s life, instead.
Just before he went to perform the surgery, he visited his father and he told him that he had a surgery to be done and that he would be back as soon as he finished the surgery.
Knowing that his son works in a noble profession, the proud dad understood the situation. The dying old man smiled at his son, nodding as his doctor son walked out of the room.
Unfortunately, just before he started the surgery, Zhang received a news that his father had passed away.
Zhang tried his best to maintain his composure – he held back his tears and decided that he would his best to save the patient in honour of his late father.
During the surgery, he received many calls on his phone but he chose to ignore them until the surgery was done. 2 hours later, the surgery was successfully finished.
He held back his tears. It was only after the surgery was completed and he knew the patient was safe that Zhang broke down.
His colleagues were s.h.o.c.k.e.d to see him crying and were quite surprised to learn he knew about his dad’s d.e.a.t.h even before the surgery began. For this, he gained their admiration.
This doctor’s sacrifice would soon go viral on social media,
with netizens saying they were amazed that he remained strong considering the difficult circumstances he was facing.
His story has become viral among netizens who highly praised him for his professional work ethic and prioritised his patient’s life but Zhang said that other doctor would do the same too if they were in the same situation.
“Although I regret not seeing him for the last time, I know he’ll understand and support my decision because he knows that I am not only his son, but I have huge responsibilities as a doctor too,” he said.
