Lip reader reveals what Kate Middleton said to Sophie Wessex during rare royal appearance

The Princess of Wales attended Sunday’s Remembrance Service on 10 November in London.

After Kate Middleton delighted spectators with an appearance at the Cenotaph’s Remembrance Sunday service on 10 November, one lip reader claims to have unpacked what the Princess said to the Duchess of Edinburgh during a close-knit conversation.

This marks the latest public engagement for The Princess of Wales, 42, following the conclusion of her cancer treatment.

Kate first announced the news back in March, saying she was undergoing ‘preventative’ treatment.

However, in July, joined by Princess Charlotte, Kate made an appearance at the 2024 Wimbledon tournament, receiving a heartfelt standing ovation from onlookers.

And weeks later, a clip of Kate and William congratulating Team GB following the 2024 Olympics was also released.

By September, the Princess had officially returned to work, revealing in an emotional ‘home video’ that she was cancer-free after finishing chemotherapy.

And this weekend, Kate joined King Charles III and other royal members at the Remembrance event in London. Though Queen Camilla was absent as Buckingham Palace revealed last week that she was battling a chest infection and had cancelled her Royal appointments for the time being.

In spite of reportedly being due to stand on the palace’s central balcony – where she was scheduled to appear alone – Kate was seen joined by Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, on a neighbouring balcony.

It’s said that Sophie – who is married to King Charles III’s youngest brother, Prince Edward – had switched places with the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester in order to stand beside Kate.

Watching the annual wreath-laying ceremony – which commemorates the lives lost during the two World Wars and later conflicts – Kate and Sophie were seen talking closely with one another during a live television broadcast.

Now, one lip reader claims to have determined what exactly was said between the duo – despite the meaning of their words remaining unclear for the time-being.

As per Kayleigh Harris – who spoke to The Sun – Kate could be seen telling Sophie: “She will be supported in this.”

And apparently, Sophie then told the Princess: “Yes, and especially…” With the end of the sentence reportedly being indistinguishable.

Per the lip reader, Kate was seen saying ‘it’s so special’ before she added: “You’re never quite ready for this.”

Sophie is said to have agreed with her, allegedly replying: “Yes, absolutely.”

Harris isn’t the only human behaviour expert to have chimed in on what the Royal ladies supposedly said during their public appearance.

Body language expert Judi James told The Mirror that a particular gesture that Sophie performed – by placing her gloved hand upon Kate’s – was a means of sending a message to her husband Prince William.

“Sophie was clearly in the role of temporary stand-in for William,” James explained.

“She chatted to Kate on the balcony as the two women stood side-by-side and despite Kate’s impeccable appearance of confidence as she stood in the spot that used to belong to the late Queen, Sophie appeared to be keeping a watchful eye over her as Anne has clearly been keeping over brother Charles.”

James continued: “It was the small touch or even pat on the back as Kate walked ahead inside the building that seemed to not only offer a form of maternal affection, caring and reassurance or even congratulation to her niece-in-law, but it also looked like the visible proof to William that Kate is in very safe and caring royal hands when he is not there by her side.”
