The 76-year-old icon, who was nominated for her performance in the television series Matlock, wore a gorgeous beaded dinner jacket that was elegantly nipped at the waist and complemented her luminous demeanor. Kathy Bates’ silver hair was done in a classic half-updo with bounce and shine, giving her look a fun yet elegant feel.
Her Sneex footwear, Spanx’s stylish sneaker-heel hybrid shoes, wonderfully suited her spirited energy.
Weight loss journey
But Bates’ stunning weight loss, which she showed at the 2024 Emmy Awards in September, stole the show at the Golden Globes.
Motivated to stay healthy after a type 2 diabetes diagnosis in 2017, which followed a battle with two cancers and an ongoing battle with lymphedema, the About Schmidt star told People, “[diabetes] terrified me. It scared me straight.”
The Misery star then addressed the accusations that she was using Ozempic to lose 100 pounds. She said that she lost 80 pounds over the last seven years with lifestyle and dietary adjustments before using Ozempic to lose the last 20 pounds.
Fans can’t get enough
Fans gushed about the Dolores Claiborne star and her new style on social media platforms, which exploded with replies.
Other netizens were more concerned with how she lost weight.
“Sh0cking weight loss,” one user says, accompanied by an eye roll emoji. Ozempic was brought up by another internet fan: “Ozempic really is Hollywood’s new bestie,” the user comments.
But Bates’ devoted fans stepped up and defended the American Horror Story star.
