Grandpa and his 7-year-old grandson were out gardening when the boy spotted an earthworm struggling to wiggle back into its hole.
“Grandpa, I bet I can put that worm back in its hole!” the boy said confidently.
Grandpa chuckled. “I’ll bet you five bucks you can’t. It’s too wiggly and limp to go back in that little hole.”
Without a word, the boy ran inside and returned with a can of hairspray. He sprayed the worm until it was stiff as a board, then carefully slid it right back into the hole.
Grandpa, impressed, handed the kid five dollars. Then, grabbing the hairspray, he hurried into the house.
About 30 minutes later, Grandpa came back out and handed the boy another five dollars.
“Grandpa, you already paid me,” the boy said, confused.
Grandpa grinned. “I know. This one’s from your Grandma.”
