Image of a man standing on a flight for SIX HOURS so his wife could lie down and sleep shocks Twitter – as people blast the snoozing woman as ‘abusive’

According to The Independent, entrepreneur Courtney Lee Johnson tweeted a picture of a man who decided to stand in the aircraft for 6 hours while his wife reclined across three seats. She captioned it, “This guy stood up the whole six hours so his wife could sleep. Now that is love.”

The picture showed a middle-aged man standing in the aisle supporting himself by holding on to the seats. His wife, on the other hand, seemed fast asleep on the seat. The tweet immediately went viral, and garnered 16.3K likes and 3.6 retweets. However, hundreds of people who commented on the tweet were divided.

The scenario has drawn heated criticism from social media users who say the man is ‘whipped’ and the woman is ‘selfish’ – while some are questioning the validity of the tweet altogether.

However, life coach Courtney was thrilled with what he saw on the plane, describing the man’s decision to stand up for so long as a gesture of true love.

‘This guy stood up the whole 6 hours so his wife could sleep. Now [that] is love,’ he shared.

But while Courtney was full of praise for the unnamed man, not everyone on Twitter was quite so impressed with the behavior.

1,000 people weighed in on Courtney’s tweet, which ignited a lot of heated responses – many of which saw people questioning the validity of the tweet.

Countless people claimed that the scenario simply could not have happened, while others were blasting the airline for allowing that kind of behavior.

‘That’s not love. Also which airline allows anyone to stand for 6 hours during a flight,’ a user questioned.

A tweet read, ‘As someone who [flies] every day… this would last up to the point that one flight attendant walked by lol no way in hell they would allow that for even a minute.’

The users critically analyzed the picture and debated whether it should be looked at as an act of selfishness or selflessness.

Others questioned the authenticity of the post itself.
