Bury an egg and banana in your garden and boost your plants

Bananas and eggs are not only the popular ingredients in the kitchen but they can also work wonders in the garden.

And you don’t have to be a gardening expert with a green thumb to succeed with them.

Many people perceive gardening as a time-consuming activity that requires extensive knowledge. So, it is necessary for us to search for simple tricks that can help us in this process.

And this is one of those tricks. It involves nothing more than a bunch of bananas, some eggs, and a pot, but it has garnered millions of views on YouTube.

So, what makes this gardening hack so popular?

The trick revolves around efficiently growing plants and seedlings, and there’s a reason why eggs and bananas can be used to great advantage.

Eggshells serve as a cost-effective alternative to fertilizers. So instead of using expensive fertilizers, you can simply harness the potent properties of eggshells – they are rich in calcium and other minerals, making them perfect for plant cultivation.

However, using a whole egg is said to yield even better results. That’s because when the egg decomposes, various substances are released, preventing root rot in the soil.

Meanwhile, bananas also contain a multitude of nutrients that are released as they decay. Banana peels, in particular, are rich in potassium, one of the most vital nutrients for plants.

You can thus create an effective (and cheap!), natural fertilizer by burying these food items together with your plant in the soil.

Here’s what you need to do

– Step 1: Take a pot and fill it with about 2 inches of soil.
– Step 2: Place a raw egg in the center of the pot, along with a banana, and fill it up with more soil.
– Step 3: Plant your desired plant in the pot.

As the egg and banana decompose, the nutrients they contain will gradually be released into the soil, providing nourishment for the plant to grow.

What’s even better about this trick is that you can use old eggs and bananas that would otherwise be discarded. Instead of simply throwing them in the trash, you give them a new purpose; to help your plants thrive and flourish!
