Big Bundle Of Newborns: Four girls, one boy,  Family Shares Their Secrets To Raising Quintuplets

After two miscarriages and 18 months of trying, Michael and Marganet Baudinet began to lose hope of ever becoming parents. When it finally came out that Margaret was pregnant, the doctors initially told the Baudinet’s that they were having quadruplets. This was obviously incorrect.

Now, for the first time, parents Michael and Margaret are experiencing each new parenting milestone, but with an intensity five times greater!

The couple welcomed their five ‘Baudinet bundles’ – Ava, Clara, Camille, Luke and Isabelle – on 4 December 2016 (eight weeks premature). The babies – Ava, Clara, Camille, Luke and Isabelle – were born at 32 weeks, each weighing between three and four pounds. They are the first set of quintuplets ever born in hospital.

After spending their first few weeks in Arizona under the watchful eye of a medical expert, the babies (plus their mother and father) returned to their home in Virginia to begin their lives as a family of seven.

Both parents said keeping their home running is the new family business.

With the help of dozens of friends and two full-time helpers, Michael and Margaret are both managing full-time jobs in addition to their work as full-time parents.

“Getting up in the morning is hard because I don’t want to leave these guys, but then, you know, they have to be fed,” Michael said with a smile. “It’s crazy, our quiet house has turned into a train station.”

“It’s like running a small business. I create a calendar every week. I make a plan for every 30-minute break of who’s looking after the babies,” Margaret said.

The Baudinets, who are from Virginia but moved temporarily to Phoenix to work with a specialist at the hospital, also encourage other families who are expecting children.

“For those waiting to experience parenthood, know that it is worth the wait,” Margaret wrote in another blog post.
