Pregnant Bride D.i.e.s on Wedding Day but Doctors Miraculously Save Her Unborn Child
What was supposed to be a lovely wedding day turned tragic when a pregnant bride Breathing Her Last of a stroke just before she was supposed to walk down the aisle, according to reports.
Flavio Gonçalvez was ready to tie the knot with his pregnant girlfriend Jessica Guedes in a lovely ceremony, surrounded by his friends and family. He waited at the altar and looked longingly at the other end of the aisle, waiting for her to appear in white. However, what was supposed to be the happiest day of his life turned into an absolute nightmare within minutes.
Nurse Jessica Guedes, 30, was six months pregnant and apparently healthy when she began to feel ill while in the limo on the way to the church last Sunday.
At first her family thought she was suffering from anxiety about the ceremony after she complained of feeling dizzy with pains in her neck.
Ms Guedes’ entourage was delayed as they tried to support her, unaware that she was suffering from pre-eclampsia which would shortly rob her of her young life and motherhood.
When the bridal party arrived at the wedding venue, a relative ran inside to tell him that his soon-to-be wife had passed out in the limousine.
They informed him of what had happened just moments ago. The six-month pregnant woman was on the way to the church when she suddenly fell ill. Her entourage thought that the bride was suffering from anxiety when she informed them of dizziness and neck pain. Though they tried to support her, she soon lost complete consciousness. On hearing the incident, he ran to the car door to discover the half-conscious woman.
“I opened the car door and she was lying down but regained consciousness to talk to me. I said to her, ‘Baby, I’m here,'” Goncalvez recalled. “She replied that everything was fine, but that she had a severe pain in the back of her neck. At that moment, I became a rescuer, as I have been for seven years with the Fire Department.”
The bride was rushed to the hospital in Sao Paulo, where doctors discovered she was also internally bl.e.e.ding.
They moved quickly to save her child, and the couple’s daughter, Sophia, was born at just 29 weeks. Guedes passed away after the baby was born.
“Jessica was a really cheerful person who loved life, an enlightened and strong being of light. I was so looking forward to becoming her husband and becoming a father. I will be strong and I will not weaken in the face of adversity,” said the 31-year-old man.
The love of his life who was happy and full life even moments before the wedding had left him with his daughter, Sophia.
Flavio is still trying to accept the harsh reality of his life.
“I still can’t believe this has happened. It seems like I’m in a sad movie, and you cry, cry, cry, but leave the movie theater knowing it was just a movie. However, in my case, the movie will never be over….,” said the firefighter.
Following the unforeseen tragedy, the new father discovered that his health plan failed to cover private maternity care.
But within a couple of days friends had set up an online crowdfunder, with colleagues from the military police helping to raise more than the £20,000 needed to cover the expenses.
The family decided to respect with Jessica’s request to donate her organs and she was buried yesterday following the release of her body.
