A young man named Jack bought a horse from a local farmer for $250.
The farmer smiled and said,
“I’ll bring him over first thing tomorrow morning.”
The next day…
The farmer showed up looking miserable.
“Son… I’ve got some bad news.”
“The horse died during the night.”
Jack frowned.
“Well… just give me my money back.”
The farmer looked at the ground.
“I’d love to…”
“…but I’ve already spent it.”
Jack thought for a few seconds…
Then shrugged.
“Alright.”
“Just bring me the horse.”
The farmer stared at him.
“What on earth do you want with a dead horse?”
Jack grinned.
“I’m going to raffle it off.”
The farmer burst out laughing.
“You can’t raffle a dead horse!”
Jack winked.
“Sure I can…”
“I just won’t mention that it’s dead.”
A few weeks later, the farmer bumped into Jack.
Curious, he asked,
“So… whatever happened to that horse?”
Jack smiled.
“I sold 500 raffle tickets for $5 each.”
“After covering what I paid you…”
“…I made a profit of $2,495!”
The farmer’s jaw dropped.
“Wait a minute…”
“Didn’t the winner complain?”
Jack nodded.
“Only one person did.”
“The guy who won the horse.”
“So I refunded his five bucks.” 😂🤣
The farmer stood there speechless.
And rumor has it…
Years later, Jack went into politics. 😆
