Buckingham Palace has responded to rumors circulating about the King’s de:a:th.
It was announced in February 2024 that the monarch was battling canc:e:r, for which he has since been receiving the very best treatment.
It hasn’t been revealed what type of ca:nc:er the King was diagnosed with, yet he has been very vocal about the struggles of the royal family over the last two years, given that he wasn’t the only senior member suffering from the disease.
Also, Kate Middleton announced that she had been battling cancer in March 2024, a journey which she has since described as ‘very, very difficult.’

King Charles most recently spoke about his diagnosis at the opening of the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.
The King noted that ‘half the problem is detecting it in time’ and added of the illness: “The great thing I think is they’re getting better and better.”
But giving some solemn words of wisdom, King Charles said: “There’s always hope down the road.”
Sharing about his own health and treatment plan, the King said: “I’m not too bad.”
However rumors of King Charles’ death began to circulate on social media just yesterday (October 6), as people searched the terms ‘king dead,’ ‘is king charles dead,’ and ‘is king charles still alive.’
The subject was also trending on TikTok, leaving people worried about the health of the monarch.
In addition, there were over 20,000 searches for King Charles in the last 24 hours.
Flags across the UK were also flown at half-mast on October 3, which is sometimes put in place when a member of the royal family dies.
The British flag which flies on top of Buckingham Palace was flown at half-mast on the day the Duchess of Kent died earlier this year.
In a short statement to IGV, the palace responded to the distressing rumors.
“We would not comment on rumour or speculation of this sort.”, a spokesperson from Buckingham Palace said.
King Charles’ calendar is available for public view, and it appears that he hasn’t got any engagements or visits planned for the foreseeable future.
Yet, contrary to the above, a recent press release states that Their Majesties The King and Queen will undertake a state visit to the Holy See in late October 2025.
It read: “The King and Queen will join His Holiness Pope Leo XIV in celebrating the 2025 Jubilee Year.”
