The relationship between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles, is claimed to have been strained once more following an alleged leaked birthday phone call between Harry and his children.
While Harry has infamously spilled the beans about his time as a senior member of the Royal Family, particularly in his book Spare, another alleged incident has called his relationship with his father into scrutiny.
The Duke of Sussex left his professional royal duties four years ago, going across the pond with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three.
Not only did he later participate in tell-all television interviews, but he also made numerous accusations about his family in his book.
His memoir recounted conflicts with his brother, William, as well as sensitive information about losing his ᴠɪʀɢɪɴɪᴛʏ.
Harry, 40, and his admissions have allegedly caused a rupture in trust with his father, King Charles, which was exacerbated by a new incident last year on the King’s birthday.
On King Charles’ birthday (November 14), and last year, on his 75th birthday, he supposedly received a phone call from Harry.
Archie and Lilibet reportedly taped a cute video of themselves singing ‘Happy Birthday’ for their grandfather, and the following day, details of the conversation were leaked to the press.
Rebecca English, royal editor for The Daily Mail, said that this ‘was believed to have crossed a line’.
It was also stated that the King was dissatisfied, which may have discouraged the rest of the royals from casually speaking with their relatives.
A source went on to tell the tabloid, “A deeply private call between the King and his grandchildren and it ends up in a newspaper the next day. Really?”
While no one knows who leaked the information, it supposedly did not come from someone at Buckingham Palace.
It wasn’t long ago that Harry revealed a private, furious discussion between Kate and Meghan.
He revealed in his book that Kate allegedly told the bride-to-be, “Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy.”
“She cried when she tried it on at home,” Kate added.
Meghan went on to say that a tailor could make alterations, replying: “Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?”
That’s when Kate asked for ‘all the dresses be remade.’
Harry then wrote: “Meg asked if Kate was aware of what was going on right now. With her father.
“Kate said she was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!”
